Ever wanted to try to do some voice dubbing? In this case, you surely need a to be able to read your text in sync with the video, using the good old technics of rythmo band… And you probably found out that the market was quite niche: it’s either old free softwares not updated since 10 years or professional solutions at around 100$ per month subscription. Wouldn’t it be simpler if you could just have a basic rythmo band right from your favorite DAW? Well my friends, today is the day!
I finally come up with a satisfying way to make and display a rythmo band with REAPER. It uses Web Interface feature, to overcome some limitations of ReaScript GUI and Video Processor. The result is a very smooth text scrolling easy on the eyes, displayed in a dedicated floating browser window. Dialog lines are simply populated by Text Items from chosen tracks. Simple and easy!
I’m very glad to share this, cause dubbing is so much fun. I released this web interface as a premium scripts cause I need support for my free work (including this website), but I tried to keep it affordable, so there is a special price for individual non-profit.
You can discuss and follow this project on the Cockos Forum releated thread Web Interface: Rythmoband for ADR and Voice Dubbing within REAPER, and have all detailed instructions on the product page, linked below.
Happy fandubbing! 🎙
